850 T3 and lafranconi competizione
« on: June 15, 2016, 02:54:37 PM »
Hi All

I guy in my neighbourhood had a set of lafranconi competizione inlcuding downpipes for a price I could not resist.

However now I need to figure out how to fit them to my 850 T3

I guess I need a new set of foot controls - my local dealer recormends a set that fit LM1 and LM2 ???

The main concern is how to fit the downpipes. The exhaust flange on my current downpipes will not work. Do I need a spacer or something similar ?

Know nothing about mounting, but I so want to send that exhaust to JetHot

Yes, a spacer collar. The cast fin connector you need has a hole in it that fits over the end of the pipe by the head and a 2 piece spacer fits in between finned connector and edge of pipe. Similar to the set up starting in the 90's pipes. I made a set to mount my Bub's to my LM3.

I still debating with my self if should be chromed or painted black? In both cases I need to scout some red heat heat resistant.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hej Simon,

Nice score on the lafranconis! They sound amazing! I have only just have mine started less than a few minutes, but damn it sounds good!

You might have some problems finding a chroming shop that is willing to do your exhausts if they are used. There is something in the exhaust soot that kills their acid tanks.

You might be able to have them ceramic coated black. That would look pretty good too!

I will have to look into that - both the coating and finding a vendor/shop willing to rechrome old stuff.

I am located in Silkeborg.
