« on: June 16, 2016, 02:46:47 PM »
:police:Anyone fitted new pads and got a t't't't't'z noise from the brakes when applied?
other than that the brakes work fine?

seems to be to do with drilled disks and some makes of pad?

The aftermarket pads (Vesrah) on mine do that as well. Took me a few miles to figure out that it wasn't coming from the gearbox or final drive. They still make same noise after 1500 miles. h

Mine have done that since new, and I've got 7,xxx miles on them... Just a quirk I've come to get used to :P

Out of curiosity, how many miles were on the bike when you chose to replace? Only fronts, or both?

I replaced mine after only 150 miles. I hated the stock pads. Not enough initial bite for me. The aftermarket pads made a huge difference. My best mod to date.

The noise is common on the cross-drilled brake rotors.

The stock pads on my V7 Special make the noise.   Not loud, but it's there.

I've replaced my pads a few times, each time a different brand and they all do it.

I made this video because I had never heard my Mille GT from anywhere other than the seat.  When I listened to it, I heard the brake buzzing on the drilled front disks.  I had never noticed it before, but now I hear it when I'm riding.       The buzz is heard most starting at the 10 second point.  It had EBC FA18 pads at the time.

What brand did you replace them with?

Vesrah Sintered Metal Brake Pads VD-262JL

Bought from amazon.  I like them better than the EBC's I ran on past bikes.
