Father's Day, 2013 V7 and the Dragon and more
« on: June 20, 2016, 09:02:02 PM »
Got in town Saturday afternoon in West Knoxville, ran out to the Dragon and did two runs. Then Sunday morning, three more runs then 28 to Franklin, then Wayah to the end, 19, 129, Cherrycola skyway but drank cheerwine, then 360 I think, then back for two more dragon runs. Not a bad mini vacation as I traveled home form my Nashville job. Gave the V7 a bit of a deflowering.....

My favorite road in that area is Hwy 28, nothing comes close in my opinion.
But your loop that combines all the roads is a great day on a bike.

The gap is fun but too stressful on the weekends. I did a quick run Saturday afternoon but early Sunday morning was much nicer with a fraction of the bikes out there. I just don't get it, there is really only one group of riders that REFUSE to use the pull-outs and they are the slowest riders out there! I followed a small pack who thought they were fast as I tailed them through the tight turns one handed with my other elbow on my knee, my hand in my chin looking so bored going sooooo slow!
But mid Sunday, 28 is good as long as you are done before the church crowd gets out!
Cherry Cola nice in the afternoon because less brisk at the top.
Plus guessed on a few roads here and there which is always fun.

That's a fun road to be sure, and it looks like you had a great time!  I friend of mine was just there on a recent weekend, but like you, got riding early enough to have some fun.  He rented a Yamaha FZ6R for the weekend in Townsend, and liked it so much he came home and bought one.

I was there for the annual 2-stroke meet in May, and got to ride a friend's Yamaha RZ350.  What a fun bike for the Dragon, and it's very tempting to get one of my own:
