I was thinking TPS...

I saw this ad yesterday but didn't post it here because I was curious how long it would take Chuck to find it.

I'm thinking tps and or cracked rubbers on the manifolds. It's looking like it might just need some TLC.

The funny thing is I used to live 10min from Branchville up in Montague and then up in Hamburg. Never once seen this bike on the road. Ever. And I'd be riding all over that area.

Hi.  I am new to this forum and understand I should introduce myself in another area.

I just wanted to quickly comment on this thread.  I am interested in this bike as my first Moto Guzzi.  Obviously, I am not familiar with the bikes so I have been concerned about getting into something that will cost a lot of time and money to fix.

I have done some quick reading and have learned that this site and members are very helpful so it has given me additional confidence to possibly buy it.

Any feedback appreciated.

Jason

Buy it. It's a bargain. If you are halfway familiar with basic tools and procedures you should be able to get it up and running well. And, there's plenty of help available here.

Also, note that the asking price in the CL ad is $1400, not $1500 as the header in this thread indicates.

Jason

If you decide to buy I am in Monroe NY and would be happy to help you get it sorted and teach you the basics of maintenance and tuning.

Guzzis are very easy to service and modify with simple tools and a little guidance.

Wow, thank you for the support.

Guzziowner, if I do buy it, I will likely take you up on your offer.  You are very generous.

Until now, I thought a Moto Guzzi was very expensive to own and maintain.

I will contact the seller and arrange to see it.  He says he has made an attempt to test the tps but is not sure if he did it correctly because he didnt get the baseline reading. Bike has 47,000 miles.

Thanks again.

Bike has 47,000 miles.

But, it only shows 37,591 miles on the odometer in the picture. Of course, it could have been replaced or the ad contains a typo.

I just heard from the seller.  Bike is sold.  Perhaps another member here?  Bike is listed in the Swap Meet section in addition to CL.  Anyway, thanks for all of your support.  I will continue searching...
