LM IV on ebay
« on: July 05, 2016, 06:48:23 PM »
Anyone know the seller of the Le Mans IV SE that's on eBay right now?  I've bid on a couple Guzzis over the last few months, but the white / red Le Mans is one I've always wanted.  I'm really tempted to bid to win this one.

I'm still thinking that I should bid on this.  Last chance to ask if anyone knows anything about this bike.  There weren't very many of these ...

I'm not saying there's anything bad about it but your aware of the 16" front wheel controversy, right?

That's ok, I have an original 18" front in stock I'd let go.

I am.  I wonder if the complaints are legitimate, though.  Dr. John ran a 16in front on his racers, and they did pretty well.  If he thought the smaller wheel was a liability, I'm sure he would have changed it.

Back when Dr. John ran the 16" wheel, tires to fit it were widely available.

Now, not so much.

I have an 85 LeMans IV with the 16" front wheel, and it handles fabulously, you just  have to run the pressure up at around 37psi.  The 16"front wheel thing is alot of BS.  I actually like the fat front tire look on the bike.
Doesnt going to an 18" front also require a change in triple clamps? Or can an 18 " wheel just be substituted for the 16" using the same brake discs?
Rick.
