LM 3 final drive pressure

When checking the oil level on the final drive of my LM3 it was very noticeable that there was significant pressure inside the drive box by the 'whoosh' sound it made when the oil level check bolt was unscrewed. The bike was at normal operating temp and the oil level was fractionally below the threads.

Is this internal pressure normal? 

Will it cause the seals to leak or do the seals rely on this pressure to seal?

The rear drive has a little slice open to the swingarm, should vent into it. Doesn't always happen though. Once it's hot(operating temp) and you crack it open you should be ok. Some owners drill a hole in cap or in swingarm for a vent tube. If it hasn't forced oil past the big seal on the hub, I wouldn't worry about it.

Like Steve says.  Get your bike up to operating temp.  Pull over and burp it or drill and add a vent line.  Will help on long rides.
