Work has me in Norfolk, Virginia for 10 days.  Any good motorcycle stuff out here?
Any interesting sites I should visit?

Gotta see the Chesapeake bay bridge if you haven't already. Wasn't big on the tunnel part though but amazing piece of engineering for sure. Crossed it one night in pea soup fog just when a destroyer was crossing over the tunnel part. Scared the crap out of me thinking about that ship hitting the tunnel while we were in it.

There used to be a bar and concert venue called "The Boat House".

Lots of bridges and tunnels to ride.

Thanks for the tips.  I had some collards greens today.  A tasty way to have green vegetables, but it seems the cooks here have a heavy hand with the salt.

Collards are awesome! Here is a GREAT recipe:

They are even better the second day laying over some scrambles eggs for breakfast :thumb:

Note 6 or 8 slices (or realistically a pound) of good thick bacon of your choosing is a decent substitute for "salt pork" Fry the bacon reserve a few slices for the collards and have a BLT while you wait.

Perrazimx, I've been trying to find red eye gravy, but no luck.  Is Va. to far north for that?

No idea what that is. I do know if you want GREAT slow smoked BBQ (pork shoulder and/or brisket), apple wood smoked baked beans and out of the world collards with buttermilk pie for desert (with fresh berries when in season or plain when not) you need to come about 6-1/2 hours north to Chambersburg PA. We also offer Key Lime pie with ice cold white Tequila shooters in the dead of summer.

Actually I was thinking of going there.  I like different outdoor environments, and The Great Dismal Swamp has a certain ring to it.

Aargh, that will have to wait until another trip.  I can't go 6+ hrs away in a company car, even for tequila shooters.

If your ever going to be in the area give me 48 hours notice and I'll get the feast prepared. Boodles martinis (chilled Boodles w/ olives and/or blue cheese stuffed olives are the only ingredient) accompanied by wedge salads with blue cheese dressing along with sage encrusted NY strip roast and a hearty read wine is also known to occur on occasion.

We have something for everyone.

What a great meal.  I will certainly take you up on that, and am happy to reciprocate when you come to Massachusetts.
