clutch lever annoyance

At some point on every ride, the adjustable lever will change to 3 from my preferred 2. Maybe some rebound/quick release anomaly? Any one else experience this? Café Sport w/ stock levers.

Did a test after changing the oil and filter.. Holding the lever to the bar and letting it return under system pressure, the lever would spring forward, past the rest position. The dial would then continue to rotate and after several cycles, lock into position 3.
