Upside down Marzocchi Shocks?

Could you mount these either way? If you go by the sticker it's probably correct.

In theory, yes, as there isn't an air pocket in the shock body itself, the *air* that is displaced by the rod is in the bladder in the reservoir which simply collapses as the rod enters the shock so there is no emulsification of the oil. I remember when I had a set way back in the day I snapped the reservoir off one somehow but I think that was because I put it on the wrong way round and it buffed against the brake plate, I really can't remember, it was thirty years ago!

They're a pretty horrible shock.

When I bought a set of those shocks the sticker was in the box loose and you put it on yourself so my bet would be yes either way and I've see them both ways

No, the rear bolt on the footrest hanger.

You do know you can't mount it to the swing arm...

Some kind of chrome strap. I think the nut is hitting the switch no arm. I have new bolts and thinner nuts that should clear.

I need to pull the mufflers off and put better clamps on. There were some nice clamps in the spares box. Not sure why they weren't used. The right muffler leaks at the muffler joint.

Nope. Won't worry about it until this winter when I'll pull off a head.

you don't have to pull head, drop sump and put a magnet to the cylinder wall.

You don't even need to drop the sump. Just remove one spark plug, make sure the piston is down away from TDC, insert a pencil magnet and touch the cylinder wall. Easy - 5 minutes and done.

True. But if it's chrome, condition is immaterial. I'll say it again: IMO, there is no such thing as "good chrome bores". If they're chrome, they need to be replaced/replated/sleeved as soon as possible.

If it's Nikasil or iron liners with compression and leakdown numbers within spec. then that pretty much tells you everything you need to know without a borescope or removing a head.

I bought my dad an Android tablet and a different camera, but he hasn't gotten it to work yet. The one I linked is suppose to work with a laptop too. Obviously at those prices they aren't going to always work.

Too be honest I'm not sure I'm wed to this bike. With new barrels I'd probably be upside down on this thing, even as cheap as I got it. If someone wants to buy it, spend $10k and make a cafe bike out of it, good for them.

I'll wait for a LeMans before dumping money on a bike. At least there you can get it back out.

That's what I was going to get my dad but then I saw I could by a tablet and camera for less and get way higher resolution.

It turns out that sometimes I have to look up and the bore cam that you posted would have to modified to look up.  Not hard but I should have looked around too.  Can't complain, I'm not a professional mechanic.
