Hi Bill, I could see the crack in your rim . I 'am a certified Aerospace Materials TIG Welder so I have some experience
with the type of repair you are asking about. First comment I have , I have never seen a rim crack like that so I would
suspect the original quality of the RIM. So your best bet would be to replace the rim. If you want to get it welded, you
need to Know What alloy of stainless the rim is made of. There are a lot of different alloys and you have to use the right
welding rod for the alloy you have . You will have to completely disassemble the spokes from the rim. After the rim is
welded it will need a crack inspection and some alloys of stainless need to be passivated after welding. I know it's just
a simple crack, but if it's not done right it can make the Rim worse than it is now. Most Machine shops don't have good
welders. You want a welding shop that repairs Aircraft parts. It could cost several hundred dollars , also a lot of aircraft
repair depots have very high minimum charge. The place I work has a 500 dollar minimum. I would look on the internet
for a rim .
