They got clubs that run them on the tracks.  I saw a group of them going through Tacoma behind a pace truck like the ones in the pictures that had both wheels and trucks.  I don't know the details of the club/rides, but I hope they have a railroad schedule!

When I was an apprentice we also had some 3 wheelers powered by a 250 JAP motor, they had an outrigger for the third wheel and could go like stink.

They were called motorcars on the Rock Island and the Santa Fe.  As kids we called em PuttPutts, after the sound they made.
