The other side of this is that guys with $300,000 Ferraris should not be parallel parking them in public. ,,,because sh*t like this happens.

People with $300k cars should not buy them unless they can replace them.

Apparently....... the long story is that there is a popular coffee shop where people go to show off their cars.  Both of these were parked illegally in the front, probably so everyone can ogle over them.

Although if it's a "cruise day" sort of thing, "illegal" is a relative term.   They usually cut people some slack if it's a known car show venue.   Businesses and municipalities usually like to encourage that sort of thing.   Backfired this time though.

Videos of people pranging luxury cars are pretty popular on the 'net.    Probably a deep-seated psychological need being met by the unsaid "Yeah, Trust Fund Boy, that Lambo doesn't look so pretty now does it ?   "

I was at the event last Saturday. Its at Katies Cars and Coffee in Great Falls. There are a few bikes and my 71 EldoVert gets a gracious reception. I have to get up at 5:15 to get there by 6 and ensure I have a good parking spot (right in front of Katies of course). Those folks were not parked in front of Katies, but in one of the overflow side lots (late sleepers lot). Not a premium spot. Great Falls is a very high end suburb of DC, and the number of Ferraris and other exotic cars that show up is astounding. Stanley Steamers, Moal cars, rat rods, old sports cars, huge caddies, you name it, seems every week I see a car I didn't even know existed. It is amazing to me having been to this event just about every saturday morning for the last 2 years or more, that accidents like this don't happen more often (the lot is full with tons of people). FWIW, the woman thought she was in Drive when she was in Reverse and that is why she backed over the Ferrari.

Having a red bike parked there would not have helped.  A more inclusive vid with extra pix.  It'll buff out.

By the bumper that looks like a `mid `70s Mercedes.  Was the Ferrari still driveable?

Weird just weird.  I can't believe the look on her face.  She's just sort of slack jawed about the whole thing no, immediate apology, no "how did that happen" just nothing but mouth open wandering around.  Just seems like a weird response, drugs, alcohol, some thing wrong with that woman.  It almost looks like she thinks someone else did this, total disassociation.

Seen it before.   A guy blew through a stoplight while I was pumping gas, he hit a car and spun it around and he slid to a stop in the gas station.   He appeared fine, no injuries, but got out of his seat belt, opened the door, and began trotting around the car looking for something on the ground, paying NO attention to the woman in the front seat or the young teenage girl in back, both of whom were bleeding and semi-conscious (not belted in).   I was checking them over and reassuring them, and asking him to help, but he paid no attention (none of them spoke English but some gestures are universal).   He just kept looking for something on the ground around the car until the EMTs came and I left ...

Yeah, I can understand shock and confusion after a big hit, I've had it happen to me.  This appears to have happened at parking speed / walking speed.  I just think she looks like she is under the influence of something.

Was that on a city side street???  If it was, could be a moving violation, DUI etc. besides big time insurance claim.

Not to blame the little ones, but children can be very distracting. Pretty calm response from the Ferrari owner considering how so many drivers are triggered to fury by so much less provocation.  The passenger saying, 'well, no one got hurt' might have been trying to be helpful, but was lucky not to have that dumb comment trigger a full-on rage.
