Don't know who bought it but they are in for a shock for that price. Obviously the foam in the seat is shot.  Who knows what else?

Best guess is that it's got 108k miles on it. It doesn't look too bad.

Yeah, I don't get anyone thinking those are Guzzi factory pipes.  I guess he didn't specifically say what factory though.

Possibly, they aren't straight pipes, but they are ugly.

The serial number and date are prior to mine which did not have a filter from factory.

When I was looking to buy my first Guzzi this spring, I would have had no issue spending $500 or more then his sell price if it was a good runner and there wasn't any title issue.

But I am cheap and I lost a lot of bikes because I wouldn't pay asking price.

Too bad he didn't try to sell it here, he probably could have gotten a buck and a half, maybe two. And deliver.

Yeah....couldn't tell either but ugly.  Kind of reminds me of tubing used in plumbing.

Would you have paid $500 for this? I know it's not a T (got one already) and not really my style but I couldn't turn it down!  Got it running within 30mins after I got it off the trailer.  By the following weekend it had new tires and oil change and rode it 300 miles roundtrip to our local breakfast meet:

Hell yes!  That Cali has a lot more bike in it than that old 850T.  No comparison no matter how many miles on both.  If both treated right the newer Cali. is good for 300K miles vs. the 850T maybe  for 100K miles.

Cali III very underated bike.  Easy to work on carbs.  May have a problem with the electronic ignition but can be cured with points distributor.  :thumb:  Only other minor problem is the fuel tap and this depends on the year.  On my '93, the fuel tap has a knob that you turn on the left side cover via a long cable from the tank.  The set screw fell out and I've been using vice-grips to turn the tap on.  I found another appliance knob from ACE Hardware but it needs a little modifying to work.

I saw the bike on Saturday morning . . . Yeah, Mark stole it!

Very nice machine, and it went to the right person (having seen Mark's T).

Thanks!  But I tell you what, that cruiser seat is horribly uncomfy.  The T is way more comfortable for a 300 miler!
