1200 sport front wheel ( and tire)
«

I removed the front wheel to replace tire with Pirelli angel GT. I had local dealer source, mount and balance the new tire and when I installed it I noticed the valve stem was on the left vs. rear is on the right
(1) Is the front wheel reversible? I could see nothing to indicate otherwise
(2) Dealer said GT is compatible with the ST I have on the rear. Anyone have an opinion or experience with this combo?

You wouldn't want to reverse your brake disks unless you replaced the pads. The Norge wheel is marked for direction, and the ABS sensor wheel must be on the right.
I always mark wheels when I take them for tires just so the shop doesn't have to puzzle over it.

The wheel is somewhat directional as in the spokes don't come straight out but are angled off center.
It would bug me, and I'd have them make it right if it's really backwards.
It's possible they removed the valve stem to put in a fresh oring and didn't pay attention to the direction it was pointing.

The raised lettering on each spoke (Moto Guzzi etc.) is only on one side and faces the right side on my '08 1200 Sport, opposite the sidestand.

You're saying the tire is on correctly but the wheel may be on backwards? Did you mark it for the shop installing the tire? Bummer. Could move the brake pads around?

thanks for all the replies, I will check lettering on spokes and if reversed I'll chalk it up as another learning experience and have tire remounted.

I'm fairly sure it isn't possible to mount the wheel on backwards. The spacer sits in the LHS of the wheel center, while the axle bolts up against the right hand side.
I'm not going to pull mine off to check this, but next time I remove it for a new tire, I'll try to remember to deliberately try to assemble backwards.
