Hard to say if it's an actual LAPD model or not from a single pic.  The seat is not mounted correctly, which usually means it's a knockoff saddle and doesn't have radio box and pivot stuff.  The handlebar is correct for an LAPD, but I've had civvy models with the crossbar too.  I don't see any evidence of pursuit light mounts or fairing brackets either.  So the LAPD claim might not be accurate.

If it's a runner and if that's all it 'needs' (those mufflers?  REALLY?) it's probably worth the asking price whether it's an incomplete LAPD or a bitsa civvy.  The seller comes across as a little more proud of it than he needs to be, and I don't know that I want to do trade with a guy who leads the negotiation with "you're a douche if you make an offer".  It's not a garden variety T3, but it's not "all that", either.

I agree with disliking the "douche" and overlook the mufflers.  What I wouldn't overlook is if he pulled some attitude while dealing with him.  If I'm buying something, I don't need the condescending hard sale.

I gotta agree RK , the "douche" comment leaves me cold . About the flat spot on the starter , sounds like a flywheel issue . Still , for $25 hundred ...

I think he meant ring gear.  If it's a removable ring gear, not a biggie.  You can almost do a ring gear removal through the starter hole.  If it's a solid flywheel then it would either need replaced or cut/holed for a ring gear.  Either way the flywheel comes off and that's more of a biggie on a Convert, since it takes 'special tools' and a while to center the torque converter once it's out.

That bike has been around KC for probably 25 years or so, thru probably half a dozen owners. Have not seen it in the shop for a couple of years not. It was always a strong runner. I don't remember anything about which flywheel etc... It was an LAPD version but I do not believe it to have ever been an actual service unit.

To me when someone describes a Moto Guzzi as a police bike, it means that it has heavy duty items on it for abuse by cops.  Not necessarily a good thing.

For some reason, I'm thinking $2500.  Don't know why.  :violent1:

The seller seems to be confusing "talks the talk" with "walks the walk"  He doesn't state he won't take less , just don't ask him what his bottom dollar is .
