Hello WG:

I have a gorgeous set of Mistral "Cygar" mufflers on my '15 V7 Stone:

At 5'4" I can only get my tippy-toes down when at a stop. This is usually not a problem as the bike is light and well-balanced. Unfortunately, however, if I don't remember to keep my legs forward enough when putting my feet down, I melt my riding pants on my pipes. This has happened twice now. The first time I managed to get the melted goo off my pipes; the pants were inexpensive Joe Rockets and not my favorite so I didn't much care. The second time though (which happened only a couple weeks ago), there was a lot more melted goo, which has proven very tenacious -- and I now have a huge hole in my really nice REV'IT pants.

I'm getting leather panels sewn into the pants, and I'm taking the pipe to a local auto detailer to remove the gobs of goo.

My question for you all is this:

Are there heat shields that will fit well and not ruin the classic aesthetic of my pipes?

I'm not interested in making them burn cooler. I am not mechanically inclined. I can clean the bike, put gas in it, ride the hell out of it, and attach easy parts like exhaust slip-ons, but that's it. I'm just hoping for something I can attach to the Mistrals that will work like the shields on the stock pipes, that will fit well AND look great.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts, opinions, two cents, etc.

Or longer legs.

The seat is the lower, more slender OEM 'gel seat' which is way better than the stock seat. The shocks are Race Techs dialed perfectly for my weight (thanks to Mike Wrenn, my WG hero). The boots are Alpine Stars that are pretty darn thick (and they better be for what I paid for them).

I'm trying hard to train myself to keep my darn legs FORWARD of the pipes; the heat shields are a just-in-case-I-forget measure.

When I melted the pants I was on a 300-mile round trip ride to take the Millersburg Ferry http://www.millersburgferry.org/ across the Susquehanna. What a hoot! (I'm the one in the grey/black REV'IT jacket.)
