Barbers Vintage Festival 7-9 Oct who's going?
« on: September 04, 2016, 06:03:30 PM »
Who's going?  I will be there the whole festival then heading to the mountains, camping at Deals Gap to ride the roads all around the area.

Camping goes quick at the Festival!!  You can always Volunteer a half day or more, you will get two weekend tickets and camping.

Can't make the Kentucky Guzzi Rally 23 Sept.  I had planned on it but I will be taking my wife to visit her brother in Germany, he has terminal cancer.  He is feeling okay right now, so we need to be there.

I'll be flying to NC and ride down with my dad, brother cousin and friend. We'll be eating some bbq along the way and also hope to get to Wheels Through Time.

Going from NC to Barber.

Did it last in 2013. No Guzzis this time unless I can talk them into picking one up before then. I've been trying. If I could only find a nice SP.

Instead we'll be on some Nortons and BMWs.

I'm going.  Prepping the Lodola, not going to attempt to ride it to Barbers from NC.

I'm going, have a pass for 3 days and camping. I'm going primarily for the swap meet and to help a buddy who is vintage roadracing. I hope the weather cools off a bit before then!

I will be at Barbers for the entire weekend, camping with my Norton buddies.  We have a reserved area (Norton Hill, turn 15-16) right by the track.  I'm taking a 4 wheel vehicle, no need to have a bike since the shuttle system works so well.  Between the swap meet, the races, and the museum it's a fun packed weekend.  Last year we had almost 80,000 of our closest friends at the event!

Now That's the idea!  It would be cool to go for a ride up the local twisty roads.  There ain't many but there are a few and then open a can of pork n beans back at the tent.

I'm volunteering for the festival, I will be there Thur.  thru Sunday then head to NC for a few days.  PM me and we can plan to get together Friday or Saturday.

It's easier to meet at the event. Just pick a place and time. Does Moto Guzzi have a presence there? Maybe near their tent?

There will be a bunch of Guzzi Hooligans In lot B camping. Nick and crew from the great white north will be attending as well.

Ought to be a hoot.

Those that are interested in getting together send me a PM with your contact info, cell/email.  I can pass everyone's  info on to all interested parties.

I've been working this event for 7 years, Corner worker/Volunteering and man it has GROWN!!  Attendance wise it has been the biggest vintage get together, bigger than Honda Indy/AMA/MotoAmarica, the Flea Market isn't quite as big as Mid Ohio but it is huge so it can be a challenge to get around the track at certain times.  Planning is everything, it would be fun to do a evening ride out of town maybe a BBQ away from the fray of the event.

I kinda remember in past years that I saw some Guzzis hanging out with the Ducati guys clumped close to Ace's Corner entrance area?

Lot B camping sounds like a good place to congregate in the evening.  Don't know where the Volunteers will be camped but it is easy to get around after racing shuts down.  Hope to meet some of the folks from the forum?

take AL 25  south out of Leeds. Not "til of the dragon" twisty but pretty interesting nonetheless. i'm probably not going this year but i highly recommend it to all motorcycle enthusiasts.

If someone wants a room more interesting than the usual chains I can recommend the columbiana inn b&b in columbiana al. 30 minutes f m the track. After you factor in the great breakfast the rate is no worse than the cookie cutter motels

With less than 2 weeks to go can we get this as a sticky?

It looks like we are now going to be camping in Lot C. I should get a banner or something...

I have purchased two camping spots in lot B and was hoping to get close to some other Guzzi folks. I understand that getting a spot has turned into a free for all with the threat of fistacuffs from some folks. Being a volunteer could you make a suggestion on how to pull this off without getting bloody knuckles.
