Voxbell horn identification high vs low tone
« on: September 25, 2016, 11:31:26 AM »
Hi,
On the 70's to 80's era twin voxbell horns. How do you identify the hi tone horn vs the low tone. That means id them visually......not by hearing them toot :violent1:

Thanx much....
Clay

On mine the low horn has the 4 terminals and the high has 2. If they are mounted on the bike you can tell by just tapping the front of each horn.
1972 V7Sport. Owned by me since 1978.
1972 V7 700cc ex Vigili del Fuoco?
1954 BSA M33 500cc.
1952(?) SuperAlce. Currently testing my patience.

Yes. I have a pair of originals and a pair of replacements. Both are Voxbells, and the numbers stamped on the front are identical left and right.

Originals: DGM5721KA.   MOD90/12

Replacements: DGM5721KA    MOD90

The originals are stamped A or B on the back for alto or basso. Can't tell what markings are on the backs of the replacements.

The originals are thicker and more substantial. I got the replacements at mgcycle.

I can confirm John's statement that the basso has 4 terminals.
