Agostini for V7 on a 1984 V65
« on: September 29, 2016, 03:57:22 PM »
from several months back, I bet you'll remember the excellent thread by mwrenn on installing a set of Lario heads to his V7??

well, one late evening I was perusing this thread and he kindly offered up a set of carbon Agostini cans for modern V7, simply for making a donation to WG.

even though I do not own the V7, I have a V65 that I've been upgrading for a couple years at this point.    I figured there would be some mounting issues, but the bikes are so similar I was fairly certain I could get them to work. I sent him a PM and made a $300 donation to WG… And the cans were mine.

my bike has been out of commission with some electrical issues but I just replaced all the switchgear and the starter solenoid, I figured this was a good time as any to fit the new mufflers.  here are a couple pictures of how they look on the bike.

The sound is amazing, the only modifications required were a little bit of deburring on the interior of the muffler pipe  and some simple bracket fabrication. My V65  has the euro spec carb jetting recommended by Dave Richardson, the only change is a 120 Main instead of the 105 Main to compensate for pod filters and ethanol gas.    The bike runs pretty well, have only put about 50 miles on with the new mufflers there is a slight pop on the overrun but almost imperceptible. Roll on power is great, if you really whacked the throttle it bogs just a touch, I may switch back to the 105 Main's or look for an intermediate size.

forgive any typos I'm posting from my phone.
