Goose has landed
« on: October 10, 2016, 06:08:23 AM »
Just wanted to say the new guy can now hang out with the cool guys in the smoking area behind the High School.  There is a "Goose" in my garage effective last Saturday.  (Of course it involved driving through the remains of Mathew to bring it home, it was in the back of my Tacoma thank goodness.)  It seems to be living with her British and one orphan vintage Honda sisters quite nicely.  Learn something new every time I read the owners manual or do a search on this site.  Looking forward to the Moto Guzzi experience........

Nice! Beautiful bike.  I'm trying to find a good deal on one for a gift to my Father.  Not many Geese in Michigan though.

THAT is one nice looking motor......

Keep the revs up, don't lug it like brand HD, and you will be surprised how well it handles.

Nice motor, welcome to the asylum........ :thumb:

P.S.,  check and see if Lee Bruns still has bushings for the shift lever, ( I used his bushings on the shift and brake levers), they help along with some adjustment to the linkages.

Nice looking bike!

I'm sure you've been reading the threads about "Cleaning Bikes", and have come to the conclusion that you should NEVER stay home because you're afraid your bike will get dirty.

The temptation may be there with a bike as pristine as that one, so "caveat Guzzisti" .....

May I be your father? I'm also in Michigan and sure I could find a good Guzzi for you to buy me.

Your other bikes are going to get really upset when you ride the Guzzi every weekend.
Congrats, she's a beauty.

's nice. Really nice.

There are some minor things you should consider doing to keep it looking a nice as it does. One is to secure the fake chrome on the sidecovers and shock covers with some glue. There's a good chance they'll fall off at some point and they're fairly expensive to replace. I see that the plastic fuel injection covers are gone already.

That is one clean garage!

Thanks one and all for the kind comments.   I drove it to work today and found myself taking the really long way home.  I am truly impressed with the quickness and torque.  (That is coming from a fellow that also rides a Rocket 3.)  I am tall, 6'4" and currently trying the extra Corbin seat that came with the bike which is much taller.  I also have the stock foot pegs and may give those shot over the aftermarket floor boards eventually.  Going to spend some time looking for a full windshield, fly screen looks great but it is getting colder here in Virginia........

If you're looking for someplace to ride this Saturday, as well as place to show off your new Guzzi to fellow Guzzisti, our SW Virginia 3rd Saturday Guzzi Lunch is in Scottsville, VA at Amici's Italian Bistro (370 Valley St but there's only one street so you can't miss it) at 12:30 PM .... 80 miles or so for you ....

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that bling!   :thumb:

Hmmm.  You say they're all getting along?  I disagree.  I think one of the orphan sisters snuck up on the photo of her new sibling and took a black Crayola to the bags.  Kinda the equivalent of drawing a moustache on it.  Fortunately she only defaced the picture.  I'd be sad if that actually happened to my pretty pearl bike.     :whip2:
