v11 gearing
« on: October 15, 2016, 02:54:35 PM »
The V11 gets to the rev limiter really quickly. Gears 1,2,3 run out quickly with 4 and 5 not far behind. 6th will max out with no difficulty. Any one experiment with a higher final drive ratio? I know options are limited, maybe non existent. How fast will it go?

Are you sure your clutch isn't slipping?

No gearing options for V11. All primaries the same, only one bevelbox.

I bet the clutch is slipping.  try riding it in 6th gear say about 60 mph and give throttle on and off smoothly and see if its slipping by glancing at the tach.  Be careful out there

top out in 6th should be close 130 mph (actual, even higher speed indicated)

Definitely no clutch slippage-I know what that feels like. This beast has a few refinements- intake snorkels removed, Stucchi xover, MIVV cans with shortened dB killers and the 02 LeMans map. I ran the Ti map until a couple of months ago. At that time I shortened the killers and uploaded the LM map. Now, this thing goes from impulse power to warp 9 as though a light switch is involved. Snaps your noggin' back rather smartly. Wonder how tall a gear it WILL pull. Coming off corners above 5K in 3rd has the front end come off the tarmac. I have become very mindful of the direction aimed for  prior to twisting the noise handle.

Yeah, road tests reported 132/133 mph.  As I recall, Guzzi claimed 139 mph.

there is one gearing option, but I don't think your v11 will pull hard enough. The option is mgs01 primary gears.
