Griso now or Griso later

So there's this 2014 Griso ( 0 miles)  I've been lusting after ..... but the planets are not aligned to jump in financially right now. 

I "could" do it now but it lets just say it would be less than ideal then if I waited a year from now to buy.

I'm trying to put a value on buying new now given that a new Griso won't be an option next year.

I usually buy used ( applies to everything it seems ) but for my next bike I was always hoping to be the first proud owner and not worry about how it was ridden by the PO ( like going short distances,  etc).  Griso's are built robust enough so maybe I shouldn't worry. 

Anyone else struggle with this one before... What's your thoughts?

Delayed gratification is one of the defining advantages of humanity itself:  the ability to put off immediate pleasure for the purpose of getting even better results in the future. No other species has mastered it. Financially, if you delay the purchase your financial safety margin and independence in life grow a little bit. You build more cushion between yourself and the immediate gratification wolf at the door. Of course, motorcycles are joy to ride, even in the midst of winter. So, perhaps you could split the difference and look for an even deeper winter discount in February?

My Griso lust started when the G11 was introduced back in '07 but I made it all the way to this year before I bought my used Tenni.  It was worth the wait!

When the time is right the right bike will be available.

There are still a few new Grisos on showroom floors, that can be had for about $12K OTD.  It's a fantastic deal on a one of a kind classic. 

There's a great deal of wisdom in buying motorcycles used, particularly Guzzi's because in general their owners take such good care of them.  And low mileage Griso's often popping up because, truth be told, they're not for everyone and many folks need to ride one for a year or two to figure that out.  So I can't argue against that, but the point is still valid that there's never been a better time to buy one new.

I think I almost just talked myself into it, and there's one 100 miles from me right now.
