exhaust for 650 lario engine
« on: October 26, 2016, 10:49:50 PM »
I apologize in advance for this completely naive question.  I'm rebuilding a Lario for a friend, and have sorted out all the mechanicals.  What I don't know is what exhaust will fit at the exhaust port besides the pipe specifically for this model, and how specific any other options are to displacement??  Can I use an exhaust from a modern V7?  Can I use an exhaust from a 500?  I don't want to use the stock Lario pipes if I don't have to. Thank you for any guidance.

Out of curiosity, what was your solution to the valve and springs problem?

I like the black pipes on my Lario, I guess you are looking for more bling?

For clarification, you're asking about the header pipe to the exhaust cans/mufflers?

Actually, I'm looking for less bling.  Want to create a simple 2:1 that tucks under the oil pan.  So, yes, I'm interested in header portions I can work with/weld on - not the cans.  Thanks everyone for guidance.

Checked the diameters, and the 500 exhaust will definitely not work. If you are going the full Monty with the exhaust, why not just buy some 1 1/2" tubing bends and fabricate your own exhaust?
When you say " have sorted out all the mechanicals. " just what did you do? We don't need another head destroyed..
Are there any stock Lario parts the owner is going to throw away?

I got the impression from post that he wanted switch out the exhaust system from the heads down.  New/different from the heads down to the mufflers.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned just fabricating a new exhaust.. Why cut up a perfectly good set of headers?
