Motorcycle Shippers?
« on: October 30, 2016, 09:55:11 PM »
As it seems Moto Guzzi motorcycles are a rare bird in South TEXAS so it looks as though I will be looking for one that is out of state. So onto the question. Is there a good reputable shipper that could pick up a Moto Guzzi in another state and bring it to South TEXAS?

Any information on doing something like this would be very welcomed as I have never done anything like this before.

Thank You :)

Haul Bikes, now with a special on shipping anywhere to anywhere for $450 - try to beat that.

I just used them for the 5th time, to ship a BMW from NC to Seattle, about as far as you can go in the lower 48, with -0- hassle, drama or damage.

Used them 3 times , very good service ( the best in my opinion ) and you can't beat the price 450 shipped to your door. ( insurance included )
They always e mail you letting you know where the bike is after being picked up and when it will be delivered etc etc.
Very serious and professional no disappointed .

You should probably visit or at least call MPH.  They would probably know where any good ones are and would be an excellent source for servicing and general 'hanging around.'

I'm about to move a R1200GS from New Jersey to Palm Springs, CA.  A number of folks recommended UShip.  I phoned HaulBikes, mentioned a $450 special, my request was honored, and I was given a quote valid for 14 days.

$450 is an amazing price.

The problem with Uship is you're dealing with independent contractors, driving their own rigs, and you might get an excellent transport done, or get Jim Bob and his rusty horse trailer. You really can't beat Haul Bikes, with their prices, service, or professionalism. They stay in daily contact, and most of the drivers I've met so far are also riders, and travel with their own bikes on the trucks as well, so they can do a little riding when they get some down time. There's no need to drain the gas, disconnect batteries, etc., and they do a complete walk around of the bike at pickup and delivery, noting any scratches, dents, rust, etc., so you'll be certain that what comes to the buyer is exactly what you bought or sold them, and was put on the truck. I wouldn't even consider calling anyone else. I sure wish they'd hire me as a paid spokesperson.  :thumb:

I have had 2 bikes shipped with Haul Bikes and both times they went over the 10-14 day shipping estimate by 7+ days. Might be something to do with infrequent treck's through Boise or????? Best price but for me the shipping times need to be taken with a grain of salt......
But, being a cheap bastard I would use them again.

Then you have those of us who want to see the country so we don't use shippers we just drive like maniacs.

I rent a enclosed 5 x 8 uhaul trailer, have made a little ramp, purchased a fork chalk and use ratchet straps.

So far my record is 4,000 miles in 4 1/2 days but now I see a nice Quota for sale in Chicago and must resist temptation.

I've had good experience with Forward Air. They have containers for motorcycles and not too expensive.
