Well damnit , Rough and I agree on something , we both prefer our women sans makeup

Obviously I am just being a troublemaker , as we agree on lots of things , or at least it seems we
do , right Tony ? Tony , right , Tony ...

Triumph's Bobber looks like a bobber! Surprising from a mfg. Comfortable for my 5'6". I bet it'll be a fun day rider! It's much closer to a garage designers original intent. I really like it but just bought a bike so timing's not right now.

My response probably doesn't tie in smoothly with this thread.  Just wanted to say  re: the new Bonnevilles and the sadly departed W650 ..... I believe I put as many miles on these bikes (at least on the W650) as most other WG members put on them.  Have any questions about the W650, I can probably offer a valid opinion.

2000 W650:  50,000 miles
2003 Bonneville Centennial Edition: 45,000miles

2014 Honda CB1100 (Traded Nov 2019)
New:  2016 Triumph T120 (Traded Dec 2021)

Yes, I've ridden a W650 - great bike!   :thumb:

Yes, I owned a 2001 Bonneville (early one), and it was also a great all around motorcycle.
When I think about Triumphs that are NOT "bloated" the vintage Meriden's always come to mind...

I like these new Triumphs much better than when they first came out in 2000. I've always thought the first try at a reissue was unbalanced visually with the engine too large for the rest of the bike. I test rode one and did like it though. I imagine this new one will ride just as well and now has the balanced look I like too.
The Kawasaki W650 came out at the same time and was very close proportionally to the original Triumphs. This one has all original 60s Triumph bodywork on it, seat, tank, fenders, lights, so they must be close in size.

The Kawasaki engine is wider, heavier and the top end is more bulky.... I have no comments on the Triumph logos on a Japanese bike because it speaks for itself...

You could win a lot of first kick kickstart bets with it!

I don't think I'd put a Kawasaki badge on a Triumph gas tank.

  I'll accept the challenge...I have a 60's Triumph...
