Reproduction Seat Covers from the UK
« on: November 16, 2016, 12:17:33 PM »

GBP32 or about $40.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/132003356898

I told the guy I'd never seen the letters as an outline. Am I correct? I have a repro seat with lettering but I don't know how accurate it is. Could someone take a picture of an original seat and it's lettering (prefer straight on from the back) so I can compare the lettering? Please post a high res image.

He said he would revise the lettering to match the original style.

Thanks!

The original 2nd gen G5, some SP and 2nd gen Convert have that font type as an outline. The T3, T, first gen Convert and G5 have it also as outline, but a little larger font size. Those repros look pretty convincing IMO. He also does a close match with the rib/stitching.

I'd say keep the font he has on there already.

This is the 2nd Gen G5 seat (same as some SP models, and 2nd Gen Convert)

This is the original T and T3 font:

And this is the one for the 1st gen G5 and Convert - Sorry, couldn't find a better pic. Basically they are all as outlined font and not solid.

Looks like he has some good photos here of the V7 Sport. I don't know if that is OEM or not. Hopefully he or someone else can chime in.

My V7Sport has its original (and crooked) seat. It has survived because there was one from a 750S on there for many years.

That's balanced out by not having winkers (indicators).
The best way to improve the performance of a Guzzi is to eat fewer pies.

Did any bikes later than the G5 have the name on the seat?

Yes, the 10000S does.

And btw, does anyone know where to obtain the seat foam for a V7 Sport seat?

No, but I'm interested too.

Anyone have a pic of a 1000S seat back?

Any chance you could measure the size of the logo to the nearest mm? Height and width?
