This is the weirdest SP fairing I have ever seen.
« on: November 23, 2016, 06:53:15 PM »

So this fellow that dropped off his V65 for some work and I were talking about the little Guzzi and during one of our conversations about the wiring and how much it will take to put it back to stock he mentions that he has some fairings... some...?  I told him that I would be interested in the SP 1000 fairing for the T-3 project, always loved riding behind the ones I have owned.

Well while I was at work Tuesday Sue Ellen called to say that some guy was leaving a bunch of fairings...

When I got home I walked up to what I thought was your basic SP fairing and saw this thing...!

What on Earth is that bottom bit all about..?   The bottom 1/4 of the fairing has this odd extension with cut outs for, I assume, the directionals, I dunno....!

Has anyone here ever seen an SP fairing done like this...?  The extension is not just an added piece, there is no sign of a seam at all in the fiberglass unless it is so well done that I cannot detect it...

Any clues...?  I asked the owner if he purchased it in the US and he said he did...

Thanks,
Rob

I had one on my V50III, it's hanging in my garage now. Perfect fit. Swapped it for the LM fairing.

Ahh, so this is a V50 fitment not from an SP 1000...?  I did notice the front directionals out on stem similar to the early LeMans series which explains the placement of the holes for them...  duh...  :embarrassed:

Does this also fit on the V65...?

Thanks Matteo,
Rob

Don't think it fits a the 65, at least not the Sp . You would have to Change to a round headlight and add the turn signal bar. Maybe this one? The turn signals look too far aft.

Is it possible that it's not Guzzi ? I thought I'd seen a Laverda one a bit like that. Like a later Jota or similar.
