LeMans IV mirror recommendations

Hello Folks, I am looking for some mirrors that look as close to stock as possible to what came on the bike, and that offer good rear visibility. I currently have napoleon bar ends and want to get away from that look for a more oem appearance. I would like some that mount in the stock holes in the controls.
any recommendations?

The question becomes, "What did the stock mirror look like?" When I bought my Le Mans 1000 brand new in 1986 it came equipped exactly like the picture in the brochure. You know, the one with the bike positioned in the old Guzzi wind tunnel. As the picture shows, it had no mirrors. Same thing with the pictures in the contemporaneous German brochure: no mirrors.

I don't know if there was supposed to be something fitted by the dealer. You'd think that rear view mirrors would be somehow compulsory. But no, mine came with no mirrors.

Just replace the little building in this picture with your bike and you will have a seriously great mirror!

Hi Rick,

The mirrors on my 85 are suppose to be the original mirrors, which came with the bike when new. At lease that is what the original owner stated. I hope this helps. I can take some closeup pics if you need a better view.

Mine are an MCS aftermarket item, but I think they look about right.

One is a bit fuzzy at 100 km/hr, and the other is a bit fuzzy at 120 km/h, but that works fine for me. I'm using Brembo brake & clutch perches, having got rid of the original switchgear.

Mirrors were probably only provided by the importer if they needed them for compliance - can't imagine Luigi would have felt the need to fit any !

I have read that they arrived at the dealers without mirrors, and that it was up to the dealer to select and fit some. So no mirrors were stock from the factory. I think I read this in Greg Field's book, but not sure that was the source.

Thanks guys for the information , and great pics! I had no idea the LM came without mirrors from Italy. It looks like some of the Emgo aftermarket black mirrors with the longer stems would work pretty good. I have a pair on my cal II and for the money, they are decent.I had forgotten ,LeRoy, you bought yours new...theres nothing like hearing it "from the horse's mouth" my friend!
