One of my trips to the Big Island, one winter back in the 80s, I took a drive up the hill to see the snow. Then I drove back down and went snorkeling!

Not much snow at all when we visited. I was so disappointed. We even dressed for it. Got one hell of an altitude headache for my troubles.

I have a couple dozen cans. Some is Terriyaki but I like the chorizo best. I haven't been able to find the chorizo in a grocery for about two years now. I have been making do with Portuguese spam instead. baked or broiled and spread with wasabi sauce, covered with cheese and laid between two slices of toast. Or at the Hawaiian style cafe you can get internet loco, it's full of spam. As opposed to Loco Moco which uses a burger patty.

Here is unusual. Five and a half years ago, I tried going on a backpacking trip in late July just 50 miles west of here (Reno) to the Grouse Ridge area of CA.

I could not make it up and had to go back because the main road had deep snow in late July:

I could not even find the unpaved road and my 4WD Jeep couldn't go on (July 21, 2011). I took this photo of trying to find the road as I decided to give up and turn back:

Don, I'd turn around as well. Just never know where you might end up when you can't see the ground.

Tom, have a L & L just a few blocks away. The wife likes the Spam Musubi. I do the Kalua or Chicken Katsu for the most part. Good gravy fries as well.

Not sure about how well the Spam collection drive would go. It could be a bit expensive to send all the cans to you islanders.
