Liquidating a 45 year passle of Guzzi parts.
« on: December 07, 2016, 07:43:25 PM »
Rodekyll is here at the Oleo ranch and so far we have only gone thru the shop. RK, do you know you have three sets of side covers? What is this? That is what they called a Thermo ?? dipstick. Was supposed to keep the oil 15 degrees cooler and you didn't need a wrench to remove it to check the oil. Whats this? I don't have a clue so RK took pictures and posted under the thread of dentist. Old cylinders, mufflers, transmissions, never ending. This was my 401K.

Still have the barn, loft and a pickup full of stuff to go thru. It is fun identifyng the old stuff especially with RK's help.

Now it is time for this to go as I got hit with a tornado back in April and my egg sucking insurance won't pay for the dead trees that are over the barn and shop. And if they  are dead and I should have taken care of them. I've cut my share of trees but I'm not messing with widow makers and dead trees hanging over buildings.

This all is only a minor set back of $4k that is not a big problem for a turnip farmer that has been married 7 times.

Tex

TT, I wondered when you were going to get around to doing this.  Time to liquidate.    Maybe a dealer will buy you out or TTs second hand Guzzi store.

Yes.  At least three Ev's and a loop or two.  Maybe a good convwrt, too.  We're getting the best angle of attack on a covered truck full of engines and gearboxes today.  Progress slowed by Sitka weather moving in.  It's frosty out there.

I don't know how practical it would be, but my wife suggested an interesting idea for a not-a-rally.

[Texas Turnip] and [rodekyll] create an inventory list of everything that's in the pile, and choose a dollar value for the lot.

They then sell raffle tickets to the members of the forum and any other fools interested parties, at a price determined to obtain the aforementioned lot value or thereabouts.

Then at the appointed time, we descend on the location. Raffle ticket numbers are randomly selected by ... well, randomly chosen persons. The holder of that ticket gets to walk out of the shop/barn/truck/etc with one, and only one item. Could be a fender, could be an entire bike.

I can only imagine the chaos and side deals going on ...

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

I'm just sorting parts, making ebay listings, and disassembling the junk for scrap.  It's Tex's stuff.  If chaos shall ensue, he'll ensue it.  :whip2: :boozing:

We've cut from the herd, an unused original ambo muffler, good tonti tank, the DB bags, and a BUB sump.  Ken has me listing them on ebay.  More to come, with a standard. OEM sump spacer getting listed next, and then maybe some oem and aftermarket cali and lemans mufflers.  What are those black, severely upswept kind with the red rear plate called?

Any interest in variations on the windjammer theme?  He's got original wixoms, buffalo, and other bar-mounted ones as well as three or four frame mounted.  Also some frame mount bracketry.

I think, " competizione ".

I would be interested if you have a whole lemans exhaust system

Stock Le Mans 1000 black mufflers had red ends, but no "propeller" like the Lafranconi Competizione.

We're starting auctions at about 6pm PST. There will be a couple more tonight and more tomorrow.

Anyone need a convert case, timing cover with pump, cam, oil pump or sump?

Also have complete 4-speeds and ambo engines.

Make offers or the bunny gets it!

Added some Convert parts -- cam, dizzy, and oil pump to the ebay listings.

Also, a very rare Tonti Police radio rack -- the rails, hinge bits for police solo saddle, and radio box mount/leveler that go behind the police solo seat over the rear fender.  Good, original condition with normal warts for the age -- no mutilation or abuse.  Greg Bender's site goes over it in detail.

Sorry, the Buffalo is spoken for.  In handlebar mount for loops I have a Wixom Ranger with NEW windscreen, and what I think is an early vetter (looks similar to a Buffalo) with no windscreen located so far.  Neither have verified mounts.  Both will need refinishing.
