Carb re-installation advice T3/Convert with airbox
« on: December 30, 2016, 12:43:48 AM »
For those with the original rubber airbox...what is the best order of re-assembling the carbs onto the engine?  Is it to put the rubber manifolds on the carbs, add the metal intake manifolds, add the threaded metal stubs that go into the airbox, and then insert stubs into airbox and bolt metal intakes to head?

And while Your reading this...is there a gasket of any kind between the threaded aluminum stubs and the carbs, or are the threads enough to create a seal?

Thanks and Happy New Year.

I get the airbox installed, get the snouts on both sides of each carb, shove the threaded snout into the airbox mitt and bolt the other end to the head.  There is a triangular 'gasket' -- sometimes two in a stack at the flange.  These double as heat insulators, and without them the flange bolts might be too long.  YMMV on the flange gaskets count.
