New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
Watched before . What is amazing , the bike accelerated with the cars on top end . Dusty
The bike pulled away at 110 MPH and held the lead until the RPM limiter came on at 192 MPH....I suspect the bike would have gained a lead earlier if the rider wasn't fighting to keep the front wheel on ground..There might be a few multi cylinder bikes that are a bit faster but all that speed from a proper two cylinder machine is impressive... A 900 HP car is insane.....
Curious what the 1/4er mile times they run? Rough, there is a guy in town that had a "street legal" Harley drag bike (blown, nitrous) that ran in the '8s at Leicester (local drag strip). He has the video on his cell phone to prove it. No doubt he would never get to 200 MPH but it would be fun to watch. I have seen him take built 1000 GXERs with his Street Glide, aka daily ride.Pete
Uh , 3300 lbs and 900 HP does not equate to 440 lbs and 220 HP . Dusty
No 440 lbs and 220 HP are much more dramatic than 3300 lbs and 900 HP, so why would 900 HP in the McLaren be considered more insane ?
I was just thinking of the satisfaction of beating a million dollar machine in real world conditions with one that might have cost 40 grand and built by yourself. Isn't that what drives hot rodders?Pete
Tony , I do have to wonder how effective those modern safety devices are at 200 MPH Dusty
No idea , both seem completely ridiculous . Just wondering about the math involved saying both have about the same power to weight ratio ? I am just a dumb old carpenter , but ... Dusty
Nothing matters until you turn both left and right.
Yeah 2 lbs/ph versus 3.5 lbs/ hp
I used to drag race cars and bikes...Power to weight is not the only factor involved...Cars always tend to have faster acceleration at speeds in excess of 100 mph when absolute power becomes more important than weight...At 110 mph the Ducati actually walked away from the cars, that was impressive... Dusty mentioned the Bugatti Veyron....Several tests show 9.7 or so 1/4 and 250 mph top speed... a well known test driver reported the Bugatti acceleration distorted his vision at lower speeds and it just keeps on accelerating... These vehicles are insane !!!! I like this vido from inside a ZR1 Corvette....No auto paddle shifter or multiple overhad cams...Just a supercharged push rod truck engine with a manual transmission and clutch pedal... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-RhogPIiwg
Yes, there are modified late model Vettes out there with turbo or mechanical supercharged engines faster than the factory supercharger Vette, low 10 second 1/4 mile... and they cost less than 40K if you can do the work yourself..
This one puts it all in perspective.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqMjbTabuasPete
