Moto Forza suffers massive loss

Moto Forza, a motorcycle dealer in the San Diego area, has suffered a massive fire that apparently destroyed a large number of bikes. While not a Guzzi dealer, they were part of the Piaggio family with Vespa, and also handled Ducati and other makes.

Here's hoping they recover, and that their insurance is up to the task...

Wow - sad. Curious what the cause was. At lest no one was hurt. I would of thought that they might have a sprinkler system, but not sure what good it would have done.

If the fire started in the shop area, it could easily have been supported by fuel, oil and other flammables well past the ability of the sprinklers to control. Unfortunately, motorcycle dealerships are absolutely full of materials to support a fire - even the synthetic clothing is a potential source of fuel. Sprinklers will help with temperature reduction and preventing materials like wood and such from burining, but anything petroleum-based will (once it hits a certain temperature) just spread and keep going.

I was having a good day until I read this...how unfortunate! I wonder if some of them were CARC bikes...
