"Sophia" on ebay...Mullendore build

I think just a stunning color combo matched with a proper mechanical rebuild...won't get better than this for a loop

"Sophia" was actually built over the Winter of '04/'05, not in '08.

This is a real nice loop, I had the chance to ride Sophia and it goes down the road really nice, stops better then my 4LS on my Eldo. Stunning bike in person.

Nice bike, as we all know.

Bad advert, though - the guy has included unrelated-to-the-bike political content that's going to alienate half of his potential customer base.   Good work if you don't mind paying the price of "having your say"!

I must be missing something. I don't see any "unrelated-to-the-bike political content". But then, my internal "ignore button" may be blanking it out...

I think Lannis is correct, that may well put off a number of people.

Beautiful bike.

I know.   It's the crime of "Noticing".

I didn't make a comment one way or the other.   Simply noting that putting a political statement in an advertisement would SEEM to be a bad idea, since you will, by definition, be putting off about 50% of your potential customers.

"Sophia" is one of prettiest and nicest bikes around.   It deserves a better venue for getting sold, I think.

Hi everyone, that's me putting the bike up for sale. Thanks for posting about it -- I didn't want to start a thread on it on my own. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me and I'll give you my phone number and I'd be glad to go over everything on the phone.

I just rode the bike this past weekend after putting a new battery in, and I will miss her if she does sell, but I've got two Guzzis now (I commute to work on a Norge these days) and it's just not practical for me to keep Sophia -- she lives in a commercial parking garage ($$!!) in the middle of Philadelphia, and given the horrible road conditions in Philly, and the traffic, I just end up on the Norge most of the time.

Charlie I am sorry I got the dates to the build wrong, I will correct the ad tomorrow. If you see any other things I've missed, please post and I will correct.

Lannis, you mentioned a better venue for getting sold -- is there another place I can post? I did have her up on the MGNOC classifieds, but from that page I heard from just one person who was serious and about 100 scammers.

Obviously if one of you guys wants to buy the bike, please contact me directly, I just didn't want to break etiquette by posting a for-sale in the middle of this forum.

Lessee . . .  chooses the one sentence fragment not related to the bike . . . .  labels it political (I had to look it up -- it's sooooo not a thing) . . . makes an absurd conclusion from the um - trumped-up - premise, and blames it on the other guy for needing to "have his say."  Seems like a cheaply-veiled insertion of politics to me, regardless of how you spin it.

People often donate some of a sales price to the cause of their choice.  It's no way a political "have your say" to donate to the red cross, spca, PITA, luap, or whatever floats your boat.  Shouldn't mean a thing to someone interested in a bike.  It's absurd to suggest that "that's going to alienate half of his potential customer base".

I have always been careful about who I buy bikes from, how they maintain and cherish their bikes, but their choice of charity to support would have little bearing on my decision.
What the SPLC does with their donated funds is obviously what offends a few out there, but certainly not half the Guzzi buying public.

I really looked hard to find what might be partisan about an ebay cycle auction.  Looked harder than casually and didn't see it.  Thought maybe the seller was bashing HD.  But thanks for once again bringing the SPLC back into mind.  I'll take the opportunity to renew my recurring donation.  New bank account broke the chain there.

Well, the bike had a buyer, but to my annoyance, the buyer flaked, so here we go again, I put her back on fleabay. If any of you guys want her, just send me a message. As I offered my last buyer, if you're on the east coast or midwest within a weekend's ride from me, I'd be happy to ride the bike out to you.

Come to think of it I've never actually sold a motorcycle before (I know, right!) so if anyone has suggestions, let me know.

That said, as someone pointed out to me a month or two ago, I seem to be very attached to this bike...
