It is a Terblanche design -- not so easy on the eyes.

Pierre Terblanche designed many more attractive bikes than he did ugly.

I've been told the Gran Canyon is a PITA to service, that coming from a ducati mechanic.

Contact Ed Milich at GuzziPower.com
He used to race this version and has a bunch of parts I think.

The bulbous head is his trademark though, and no one really liked it.

i've got a 900 IE  elefant ( basically same bike, but with different bodywork)
absolutely brilliant bike, you can cruise at any speed on any road.
cagiva was decades ahead of their competition.
they were in a class of their own until the KTM 950 showed up.

but pretty horrible to do the valve clearance.
this needs to be done every 10.000 km
you can check with the engine in place , but changing shims need the engine dropped.
takes me  a weekend

the rest is just regular maintenance , nothing special.

Like every Ducati , serving the " back" cylinder is a pita , but that does not bother me much.

The cagiva elegant is a bike I would love to have but if almost impossible to find one for sale...

Get to know some Alazzura people, they tend to know where the Cagiva stuff is.

I almost bought one about 4 years ago, but I found my Breva and bought it instead.
On days when my Guzzi annoys me, I kind of wish that I had bought the Cagiva. But if I bought the Cagiva I'm sure that I would be wishing for the Guzzi.
Of course if my lifestyle allowed multiple bikes, I would probably have both (and a Morini, and a big single, and...).

There is a Yahoo support group I do believe. As I recall, someone there posted the idea of creating a partially removable rear fender, allowing access to the valves on the rear cylinder.

Ed Milich finds Elefants (and parts them out) fairly regularly, maybe contact him? The one that I "refurbished" two Winters ago turned out quite nice, but had almost zero buyer interest at $2500, until one day when the "right guy" saw it and bought it.
