Tom and the Heartbreakers start their tour from my hometown OKC tonight, 4/20.

Joe Walsh is opening.

Looking forward to the show, especially the kick off to the tour.  This will be the third time I've seen him, first time for Joe.

Going May 6th in Tampa.......my wife dislikes him, but does like Joe Walsh.  Went to an Eagles concert a few years back and Walsh stole the show.

I didn't realize how good he was until I saw the Documentry on Netflicks.  I went straight out and bought his double greatest hits album. Has anyone seen him lately? I would like to know if he still has it.

Tom or Joe?

I saw a doc on Tom a few years ago.  Still had it in for his old drummer and the ordeal of the bass player.

I was a casual fan at best. saw him when the Allman Bros. opened up for him....which pi$$ed me off, thought it should have been the other way around. first two songs were identical to the records and I thought great, this will suck. but after the third song they let loose and I became an instant late to the party fan.

Petty is the only group I've seen twice....great shows, I was bummed at my bud for not letting me know he was in Tampa in a couple of weeks, would like to see him play again, though he is getting up there now.

wow it was just a great great show...see it when it comes to your town.

"we were back stage chewing our finger nails for the first show of the tour but we knew it would be OK -C"

Wow! those guys can kick it out.  Of course the new guy is the drummer and he's only been with them for 24 years.  And man, I saw them with the old drummer too.  Same band, the Heartbreakers, plus two sisters singing back up.  The place was packed, I would call it a sell out. Great songs, great musicians, great lighting and video, half the songs were sung by the crowd.

Tom is terrific, one of the great song writer musicians.  What a tight band.

I grew up in Kent, Ohio and went to Kent State when Joe Walsh and other members of the James Gang were there; knew a few members of the band/road crew. Must have seen them in concert more than a dozen times. Saw Walsh in concert several times recently, including a year ago in Cincinnati; he still puts on a great show.

My wife, younger daughter, and I have seen Tom Petty and the HB's in concert twice, and have tickets to see him with Walsh in Cleveland later this year. The band is incredibly tight and entertaining; looking forward to the Walsh/Petty concert.

I went to college in Petty's home town - Gainesville Florida.  Saw him twice while in school, always a dependable good time.  Saw Joe Walsh in about 1980 opening for the Rolling Stones, a big football stadium affair.  Joe was excellent and came close to stealing the show.

Before George Harrison died he put together an All Star band with Petty and a couple of other folks.  They made one album which I recall was pretty good.

Petty had a small part in the post apolyptic movie "The Postman", a favorite of mine.  He played the leader of a group living on a dam.  Not a terrible actor.  Played himself in the movie IIRC.

Saw him many times in highschool and college. At the Nassau Coliseum, on the "floor" (dock) at the Jones Beach Theatre, and front row at Madison Square Garden to name a few.

Always a good show and he usually threw some cover material in too.

At the MSG show he did a solo acoustic cover of For What It's Worth under a small stage light (like a porch light with a pull chain) while the rest of the band took a break.
