I was at my local Guzzi dealer on Friday looking at the new bikes, and that accessory wasn't available.

Those accessories are usually expensive when new, and you never recoup your initial investment. But they really personalize the bike!

If that attention-hungry woman would just step out of the way, we could SEE the bike!   What was the photographer thinking?

You should have seen Guzzi girl at MotoGP Indy. Those Yoga britches looked to be painted on.

Don't think the accessory package affects the warranty, but it definitely increases maintenance costs.

Agree 100%.  But the advertisers say it's these accessories that sell bikes.

I know I like them.

I've had that accessory.  It ends up costing more than the bike itself.

Your cost of riding goes up with one of those accessories.

I've noticed in my life that the difference between guys who retire with a nice pile of cash, and those that are scuffling to make it when they're old and gray, is generally the one-woman thing versus the girlfriend/divorce thing over the years.   :thewife:  Fully verified now via the bulk of these comments!

I couldn't agree more. Once I finished paying for my divorce, I only had me to spend my money, so there is a lot more for me to spend!!

Simple math for retirement.

Assets/dependents = assets per person. (I divide by 1)

Assets per person/expected life expectancy = assets available per year. (I figure I'm good for another 12 years)

I did it a little different - I waited until the Income Stream/Dependents (D=2 for me) = Reasonable Annual Income.   Leaving the capital alone.

I never really counted on Social Security, knowing what a pyramid scheme it is ... as long as it's coming in, it's a really nice extra (25% of my income) but if it dies, we'll just back off and still be OK.

This way, I don't have to say "Well, my money will last until I'm 85, I'd better die around then ...."
