Interesting to hear the differences and the similarities between the different engine configurations.  I think they should have used a parallel twin rather than a v-twin for the 2 cylinders.  All wow!

I loved that.

Along with three others "recommended" after watching that slack-jawed.

I would have watched even more, but Kathi walked by and made a rude remark.

Thanks, Tom.  I think.

Would it be wrong to say I enjoyed the 2 cylinder HD the most.

The automated vocals are a bit annoying but this guy digs up some very interesting machines... and he likes Guzzi.

Yeah, I noticed that.  A nice hard hitting thumper makes a lovely noise.

I also thought that the choice of a Harley big twin street bike was more than a little lame.  At least go for a XR750 motor or nice hot rodded Ducati or Guzzi twin.

I'm not surprised with their choice of Harley, due to its market presence, but they should have at least included a parallel twin for comparison.

A Rolls Royce Merlin on a low flypast is pretty sweet. And the Griffon was a beast of an engine, but at least in the Shackleton with the contra-props it was so loud that "Shack Ear" was well known in Coastal Command.

I like the sound of a well tuned thumper too, the Ducati Supermono was pretty special.

Mentioning the Rolls Royce Merlin engine brings back memories. Not from airplanes, but from hydroplanes. I used to always watch the hydroplane races every year when I was younger back when the Merlin engine was king, before everything went turbine. The whine of a turbine engine just doesn't have the same character as the old Merlins. I miss them.

I'd better stop reminiscing before I start sounding like an old man.

Heard and saw the 5-cyl 125 Honda at Goodwood more than ten years ago. That was something unworldly, alien.....
