Ride to Darwin 2018
« on: May 15, 2017, 05:53:07 PM »
Ride to Darwin in Oz.  A general call for expressions of interest to any riders who may like to go to Darwin and return. From Adelaide or Sydney,Melbourne. Nothing set in concrete. Time frame from Late April to October 2018. I did this 2010 on The Long Ride for Prostate cancer and the fundraiser is about due to head that way again next year but won't know till early 2018 for sure. A group of guzzis would be great but anyone is welcome. Please send me a private message if interested.   Cheers Ian

Around that time my mate Peter and I are going to be circumnavigating the continent but who knows if we'll be in the same bits of the country at the same time? Keep us posted though and we might be able to meet up somewhere.

Pete

So, did the long ride help your prostate any?

Don't think it was his prostate he was showing concern for. It's an old fashioned notion down here in Australia, but sometimes we try to highlight something for the benefit of others, but we'll grow out of it one day no doubt...

Yeah mate, count me in. I've done this trip in the 80's, in a car with a caravan hooked up. Would love to ride along, and if it's for a good cause, even better. Let's keep in touch.
Might be worth dragging out the Audace. The roads are pretty straight and we'll hold you up 'till you get rolling. :thumb:

IIRC is there a B-25 on display in a hanger type museum in Darwin?
Any of you guys know about that or ever visited?

Been there, it's a B52. It's easy to find "if you see a faded sign by the side of the road"...

That whole museum is worth a look. Not just the B52.
