Road King.
New/Leftover 2016 FLHP Police Road King, priced like a Guzzi lol:

 Road King Police

I kinda dig that it's more understated than the civilian RK (less chrome, fewer badges).

I wonder if I added the Guzzi Eagle to the tank if anyone would get it. [emoji23]  Especially after I add a docking plate to the luggage rack to accept my HB Topcases with the Guzzi logos.

LOL thanks. I had the funniest conversation with the parts guy.

So I'm looking for a few things, nothing to make it louder or shiny, just some things for function:

Lower windshield, preferably smoked so I don't have to worry about cleaning the bug guts off as often.
A kit to make the rear turn signals function as running/brake lights.
A 2-up seat so I can take the kids or wife with me once in a while.
A set of passenger floorboards and mounts.

"Sure, just let me know when you pick out the floor boards you like"

"Uhhh, no, I don't want any of that crap, I just want the OEM ones that come on the rest of the FLHs. Better yet, do you have a take off set in the back from someone who bought some of the extra ugly ones?"

Congrats Kev!! Looks good!!

One more question on my Dyna brakes.

What are the rotors made of, stainless,  just steel or plated? I think stainless???

Thanks again,

I know right, I wished I could for that very reason. But alas no, they need to "convert" it to Civilian specs since I'm not an officer. That means changing out the lenses for clear and changing out some wiring harnesses/handlebar switches etc. that are used for the siren and radio pack to the standard civilian setup.

Still, it has some other nice differences from the regular RK though.

The air shock supported seat which sadly I'll remove so I can install a touring seat for the kids (though I did find I could buy a separate aftermarket pillion if I really wanted to keep it).

A large tachometer mounted in the dash where the speedo normally is.

A smaller separate speedometer mounted to the bar clamps.

A blacked out headlight nacelle instead of the other OEM chrome one, and black sidecovers instead of the usual painted ones. Plus as I noted it's missing a ton of badges. I'm really not sure if I'm going to add something to the tank or not.

A luggage rack (normally used for a topcase and/or radio pack I believe).

A power outlet under the left sidecover.

Plus standard ABS (and this particular one has the cruise/security module).

So it's nicely kitted, and for thousands less than a standard RK. Actually in today's dollars I think it was cheaper than my 1996 RK. Heck out the door with a bunch of accessories and TTT it still came in cheaper than the base RK msrp, and only a couple thousand more than the Sportster CX I was planning on buying.

I think that 's the way I'd go, esp. since you'll likely be solo most of the time, why not enjoy that comfort of the solo seat.

Ha ha, I wouldn't put the Guzzi lettering, just the eagle. Most Harley guys wouldn't look twice.

I'm going to have to give the tank some thought... or just leave it alone.

I think that 's the way I'd go, esp. since you'll likely be solo most of the time, why not enjoy that comfort of the solo seat.

I'll see how I like that seat, but I already bought the Sundowner touring seat which ought to be pretty damn comfortable too. And it will sit lower, I did say the air seat and suspension had me on my toes (which shocked me, though I'm sure I could just let some air out of both and be flat foot).

BTW, they just told me it's ready. I might change my plans, cut out even earlier than usual and go pick it up. But since no-one's around I'll have to leave a bike there (they told me they'd lock it up all safe and sound). Think I'll mess with them (and Jenn) and leave the Duc. That way we can ride back together on Monday to pick it up.

I put the old '60s style badges on my FLHP.  Looked like this.

That bike was the most comfortable touring bike I ever owned.  Didn't handle or run quite as well as my '03 Titanium, but 500 miles/day for days on end was a breeze.

I kinda like that!

I bought one of those same air cleaners for my 07 RK.

So I called to check how the prep was going early this afternoon and found out it was ready. So I ran down there on Jenn's Duc (left it with them for a day two) and put a quick 100 miles on it this afternoon before I had to get home and take care of business.

I think I'm gonna like this bike!
