I did go through Belgium but I lost track of who was where, but thank you indeed for your offer.
I stopped in a lovely place in a valley and was made welcome by some wonderful local guys. Back in London now after 16,000 k's and the Guzzi was perfect, I think I'll check the tappets when it gets home.
I want to re iterate that your offer was generous and I'll factor it in next year if still open.

Well....
It's kinda' all over now. Back in London and have washed the bike and will be in the depot for return to Oz in a couple of days. The Norge did NOTHING wrong over 17,000 k's and I really do feel more enamoured than ever with it. Looking at it, you can't tell that it's even been, and when washing the dirt off it in it's filthy state, I looked at the muddy mess on the ground and wondered how the dirt from 6 weeks and 17,000 km can run together and look like there was never a distance between them...I think the whole world is made of the same stuff.
The rough description is London, Calais, Hirtshals, Kristiansand, Bodo, (Ferry) Lofoten, Nordkapp, Helsinki, Brno, Geneva, Mandello, Rome, Paris, Rotterdam, Calais, London. (and a bit in between)...
Oil changed at Agostini's and otherwise never saw the spanners...
Riding back from the car wash without the heavy panniers and top box, she felt like what you guys on 8 valvers
feel everyday, you'd reckon you had a rocket up your arse! But it's all relative I guess, I still wouldn't change it for anything.
I'll have it back by end of November and then ride it 'round in the Aussie summer before starting preps for 2018.. I'll have to get cracking 'cos before you know it, it'll be "Almost That Time Again", I'll save up for the cappuccinos that I'll doubtless have to buy for the assembled throng under the clock tower in Calais .
Just a look at how well (I think) she's stood up to Europe for the fourth time, and thanks to any or all that have taken an interest.

and I forgot this one. Like to try to get you to believe it's a testament to how well she's stood up to 72,000 km on Europe trips, but we all know it's just a gratuitous bit of self indulgence, but part of me doesn't care..(the important part !)

Interestingly enough, I think their best L/D is around 15:1 which is not terribly bad for an A 380, although like all gliders, you only get one go at the approach.

'Chucked a set of old cast ones on for the trip home.My original back one is currently being used as a hose reel in Australia. (Actually, that's the truth !)
