As well as, Natasha Fatale, Nell Fenwick (Dudley Do-Rights main squeeze), Cindy Lou Who, Talking Tina the murderous doll on Twilight Zone,  All the princesses and queens in Fractured Fairy Tales, Witch Hazel in WB cartoons, Grandma Fa in Mulan, Tweety Bird's owner Granny, and approximately 5 billion other roles...she belongs up there with the greats...

Actual dialog from The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle #842:

(Boris Batanoff has recruited a gang of tough guys to impersonate a girl's football team and challenges Wassamotta U. to a football game)

Rocky: "What kinda game can you play with girls, anyway??"

Bullwinkle: (faces the camera and deadpans) "Hoo boy, this IS a kid's show, isn't it?"

Funny that youze should bring this up today.  I was just talking with my coffee klatch friends today and brought out a copy of MAD magazine.  You will remember this as the favorite magazine for 13-14 year old boys in the 50s.  Yep, that's me.  I thought MAD was Da Bomb!  Well, it is still in publication.  Oh, and still appealing to those 13 year old boys who are now senior citizens.   Totally irreverent and now political.  It seems that some things just won't die.  We also talked about Rocky and Bullmoose and how it only appeared to talk to children...wow!

MAD magazine was GREAT!! "What? Me Worry?"  Unfortunately, the magazine was also "banned" by Dominican nuns in Catholic school - - at least the one I went to - - so we had to smuggle them in!!

We met her at a show in Northern VA about 25 years ago.  It was fun hearing her do the old voices then.  Sorry to hear she died, but she sure did beat the odds, especially since she was still smoking when we saw her.

I know my father enjoyed the show with me.   Like many cartoons, there were plenty of jokes for both kids and adults.
