2013 V7 stone weird vibration in pegs
« on: August 21, 2017, 03:40:05 PM »
I took out my newly acquired 13 stone today and noticed a strange vibration through foot pegs and I will try to explain as best as I can. I noticed maybe 5-10 minutes into ride at my first stop in traffic, when I proceeded to go and let out clutch and accelerate, I felt a spinning like vibration through both pegs. Never felt this before on my 2012 v7 classic. So now I'm like wtf?. I pull into gas station to visually inspect bike, all looks normal, no rattling loose parts. Turned around and headed back home, did it again, but once moving, all is fine. There is only 1500 miles on this bike, all fluids were changed recently by dealer. Could this be a clutch adjustment?

Thanks for any input.

I think I found the culprit. Looked in the air box, noticed that there was oil on the bottom, filter was dry. I drained out some of the engine oil and took her for a spin. Didn't get any of the previous symptoms, I hope all is good. Definitely going to need a tune though, most likely will do a Beetle map.

Cheers.

I've gotten that same vibration on my 2013 V7 stone.  Always at idle, a sort of loping mechanical thing.  My bike has never suffered any mechanical issues of any sort.  Had the 6000 mile service done this summer and the bike is reportedly in tip top shape.

I have chalked it up as harmless 'character'.  Just different from other bikes... and that's why we love them

So it felt like something spinning? I have never felt anything like it in all 10 bikes I have owned. Like I said, once I drained maybe 5-6 oz of engine oil, went for a test ride, all seemed good. Hoping that is al it was.

Yes, that's it.  A spinning vibration felt in the foot pegs.  Only at idle, stoplights. Very slow speeds... don't always feel it.  No harm or mechanical issues after 5000 miles.  As stated earlier, had the local MG dealer do the 6000 mile service and everything is good 😊

I've had harley, BMW, Suzuki and Vespa and none feel like my V7 Guzzi.
