well Chuck always said the electrical wires hold all the smoke inside.  I'd say it was a huge electrical failure considering the amount of smoke.

Yeah, he could kick butt on them when others couldn't, including Valentino Rossi.    When Stoner went to work for Ducati a couple years ago many were hoping he'd race them again but he refused to do that.  Now that Dovi is doing good it probably isn't important that Casey comes back to full time racing.

Win Percy had a similar failure in the Bathurst 1000 a number of years ago that he attributed to an electrical failure paraphrasing it was along the lines of, the conrod came through the block smashing the alternator and causing an electrical failure.
