Agostini: How a V9 should sound
« on: September 01, 2017, 03:27:27 PM »
Liked everything about my Roamer except how it sounded. Agostinis brought out the baritone V-Twin rumble. Here's a before and after video.

Sounds fab. I want this sound on mine! Where did you get them and how much were they?

The model number is AMV9spi, and you can get them from AF1 or order dirct from Agostini. Quality is great, price is steep.

Sounds fantastic, John.  I'm envious.  I assume these were just slip-ons and didn't require any kind of map?  I'm holding my wallet down in my pants as it is struggling desperately to open.   :thumb:

Runs great, no popping on decel or other symptoms of fueling issues. Agostini says it's tuned for the stock setup as long as the DB killers stay in. I don't know that anyone has really done much map tuning on the V9 yet, and they're all still under warranty.

I know about wallet drainage, it hurts. But my rationale is the stuff I know I'm going to get eventually I might as well grab upfront and enjoy it from the get-go.

Beg pardon, but an Agostini sounds like this:

Of course! Though when I rode a Diavolo Nero Griso, I was more of an Omobono Tenni Guy.

Based on that video, I slightly prefer the Agostini's over my mistrals, which give a nice rumble but lack that throatiness.  Both have much more character than stock.  Mistrals pop a bit on decel.

Adan, that was my experience, too. I had Mistrals on both my V7 and Griso. An improvement in sound over stock, but both had some popping.

I went with the Agostinis this time, despite the higher cost, because the new version looked better than the larger and longer reverse cones they had been selling. The factory rep I exchanged email with said they had been redesigned to match the V9 engine with stock mapping. So far so good!
