SPAM heated gear on sale

Now that fall in almost here it's a good time to think about extending the riding season.  I'm a big fan of electric jacket liners with a heat controller.  Just saw that Warm N Safe has a sale on these and even offers a trade-in credit for your old heated gear....any brand.  I just saved $100!

Warm'n'Safe has a stellar reputation among the long distance riding community, and if anyone is disappointed by their current gear, this would be a good time to consider a change.

That being said, my own heated gear is another brand and so far is OK though not of the same quality.

Only heated gear I tried was a pair of heated gloves Roy lent me, they burnt a hole in my hand 🤚

KiwiKev, I had a similar experience with heated gloves.   The gloves were older technology and I found the wires to be a real PITA.  They dug into my hands.  The same happened with heated socks.  Now the gear has gone away from those large wires and uses a much finer mesh.  A second point is that you must use a controller to vary the amount of heat you are getting.  An on-off switch won't do.  The WarmNSafe controller is based on timed output rather than just a rheostat.  The timed output saves your electrons for heating only vs a rheostat where you are basically throwing away the electrons you don't need.  At any rate, it is critical that you be able to control the amount of heat because these gadgets can crank out as much as 90 watts of heat and you usually don't need anywhere neat that output.  Just dial it down to where you are comfortable.  I have been using WnS gear for about 20 years now with no problems.  Before that I tried Widder and Gerbing...maybe others.  Now I carry the heated liner on all trips.  Even in summer I can hit a rain storm at altitude and need extra heat just to feel comfortable.

Yeh one of Roys gloves was faulty and developed a hot spot that blistered the back of my hand. I'll never go riding with him again lol [emoji23]
