Nice article that focuses on a phenomenon that is increasingly real in today's moto market:  downsizing.  While this trend is widespread among older riders, the number of younger riders seduced by the charms of smaller bikes continues to grow as well.  A smaller, lighter, less expensive, less powerful bike beats a bigger, heavier, higher-powered and more expensive bike in terms of:  purchase price; insurance premiums; maintenance costs; modification costs; parts replacement costs; less mass/inertia resulting in greater agility; ease of pickup if dropped; less physical effort required to operate the bike, maneuver it around a garage or put it on a center stand; ease of cornering; slow-speed maneuverability; suitability for the skill level of novice riders; astonishing performance capabilities in the hands of a skilled veteran rider; and more.  (Long-distance riding, carrying a pillion and straight-line acceleration, it should be said, are areas where a bigger bike will have the upper hand).  Seriously now, how many riders actually need - or even want - 100 HP or more?  As a card-carrying Downsizer, I have to agree fully with Kevin's final conclusion:  The ultimate winning argument in favor of smaller bikes is simply FUN.

Yep, I just downsized my >700lb Triumph Thunderbird to a sprightly 500lb Triumph Bonneville Bobber and totally love the Bobber. The TBird had huge, tree-stump pulling torque, but I didn't buy a bike to pull up tree stumps. The Bobber has a 1200cc engine, compared to the TBird's 1700, but it's power/weight is just as good and its weight is lower and it actually handles. Downsizing is about FUN, indeed.

Don't trust either of them. Their eyes are too close together and they have tiny ears! You can never trust people like that......

Ha!  I thought about that when I saw the name/photo, but I have developmental prosopagnosia, and couldn't be sure.

What's up with the banner in background of the pic about the spare parts built chopper, is Revzilla ratifying the 1% lifestyle by showing the support banner in the background?

You mean the picture of Dave Searle?

Uh, that's quite a stretch. No.
