I noted the "stock on hand" figures on the site.  I doubt that Schuberth makes that many helmets.  The figure for the SR2 was something like 6,000.  I too am anxiously waiting to see what, if anything, you get for your money.

The usual list price for an SR2  is $800+.  The site offers them for $240.  It's hard to see how $240 could be a legitimate price for a real Schuberth.  The cautious cheapskates are waiting  ...

If it walks like a duck, quacks likes a duck, well hell this has SCAM written all over it.  Helmets are priced well below wholesale, so where did they get current model lids at this price?  No way would I sent them my credit card info.  Good luck would love a new Shoe lid at this price, but dreamers and screamers and daydream believers beware.

^ "Refurbished" helmets, a la Apple and others? "A little filler and paint should do the trick."

Still, if they have thousands available, they are not "refers" but something else. Hopefully new and made in Germany. Anxiously awaiting our test case!

The prices seem too good even for knockoffs. Imagine how much tooling would be required to reproduce all those models, not to mention the electronics.

I placed an order. After entering credit card info, the website kicked me back to the shopping cart, apparently asking for credit card info again.

But at the same time I got an order confirmation via email.

We'll see.

I agree don’t do it.  I also saw the Premier site and tried to email and tried to get response to questions - nada.

If a site doesn’t list an address plus a phone number it should be avoided without second thought.

Now about increasing size and stamina.......

My credit card company flagged the site as insecure and declined payment. They're sending me a new card.

I ran a who-is on the site. The domain is named for a resort in Bali, and lists a non-existent address in Illinois as domain owner. The email address is a generic server in China, analogous to hotmail or yahoo.com.

So I got burned but no harm done except the inconvenience of not having use of that card for a few days.

No, the shipping info says it has left Pudong, but hasn't been updated for 2 days.  This is the latest.  I must admit, I'm just curious at this point what is coming.  This is from a shipping site, that uses a Chinese to English translator.

So...what makes an $800 German helmet better than a $300 helmet for the average rider who buys a new helmet every 5 years?

On the DOT sticker, at the land speed racing tracks, a DOT sticker is meaningless, only helmets with the latest Snell or European equivalent rating are accepted...

I bought my Schuberth for under $300 on clearance. The fit is perfect for me (most comfortable helmet I've ever worn). They also have a 5 year warranty which includes them replacing your helmet if you get in an accident.

Would I spend $800? I don't have that kind of spare cash. Around $300 is the most I can afford and rationalize spending on a helmet.

I got a Schuberth helmet for about $ 350 a few years ago.
It's very light, and comfortable, but I've had helmets that have been more quiet.
Then I read recently that Schuberth helmets were not among the safest. Oddly enough, a cheap one from one of the cheap chains was.
According to tests.

I got my Schuberth C3 on close-out at Revzilla for $329. It is a great helmet, and I have added the convenient Schuberth SRC system to it. However, I would not want to spend more than that on a helmet.

From pebra:What brand was it?
GliderJohn

Here's where I read about it
https://www.naf.no/forbrukertester/test-av-utstyr/test-av-hjelmer-for-motorsykkel/

It appears that they have tested eight helmets on the Scandinavian market. Best marks to Shoei NXR and HJC FG-ST.
Then there's the LS2 Rookie, a relatively inexpensive model from a brand I hadn't heard about.
And the one I had in mind: Biltema VCAN 82991, i.e. the helmet carries the chain's name, it's not a helmet brand. About $ 125, that's inexpensive here. Biltema is a Swedish chain selling inexpensive car parts and tools and additionally lots of junk for the house, you hopefully get the picture.
Schuberth C3 Basic did not pass their test.

Did all of the Shoei helmets pass or just that one?  I would agree that a modular is not as 'safe' as a FF.  Glad I never had to test the concept.

I also thought my Schuberth was the most comfortable and nicest to use helmet I owned or tried out.  Didn't hurt that it fit me perfectly with no mods at all.  I also got it for $350, not $800, so it was also the best deal I ever got on one.
