I thought it was really good.  I liked it better than the original.  I doubt the next one will be as good.

Perhaps not as good as Larry David but pretty pretty pretty good.   :azn:

I liked it also, probably better than original.  I'll look forward to seeing it again to pick up more details when it's available to stream.  I didn't have that cheap feeling there was a set up for a sequel.  We saw it on the IMAX screen.  I was glad they didn't cheapen it with the 3D crap, but great on the big screen Sun morning with an empty theater.  No cell phones or chatting to disturb from the show.  Harrison Ford can still kick some (movie) ass.

Are there plans for a sequel already? I saw it Saturday. GREAT movie. Can't imagine they'd want to keep banking on Harrison Ford being alive though. Seems like a bad business model.

1.  I had trouble hearing all of the dialogue.  The conversations blending into the background and sound effects.  I think it was intentional.  I didn't hinder keeping up with the plot.

2.  I think a sequel is set up totally and inevitable.  Which I doubt will be as good as this one.

You didn't think it was set up for a sequel?

I am in the minority then.  A sequel is the only way to complete the plot.   So far as Ford, well, some characters live and others would have to be there for the sequel.  Just sayin'.

Just watched the theatrical version of the original (and loved it again). Really glad to hear that they've done a proper job with the sequel of this classic. Looking forward to seeing it three or four times...

I have the original on Blu ray and it's a great flick.  It sounds like the new one is really good too, but I'd prefer to see a new idea than an old one, but maybe I'm in the minority on that one.  Whether the sequel was planned or not, given the numbers, it seems unlikely.

Saw the original in the theater and have been a fan ever since.  Saw the new blade runner last weekend and it was great.  Definitely not a remake but a movie that stands on its own.  Only thing I missed was a Rutgers Hauer character... but the movie was great without it.

I saw it in the weekend also.

Its definitely something you wanna watch in the theatre, rather than small screen. The effects are great, and its a compelling glimpse into the future. I thought the story was ok. I'm still chasing that initial rush I got watching Star Wars in 1977 - pretty close on the effects side of things I thought.

One reason I liked the 2nd movie better than the first is that I had the context of the first movie to draw on.  When I saw the original I really didn't expect such a dystopian and somewhat disjointed story.

Just saw it.  If I had it to do over I'd wait for it to come out on DVD.

If you loved the original, including all the useless noise, then you'll love this one.  If you don't want to aggravate your tinnitus bring ear plugs.

Noise aside, I think it was an hour too long.  Many things I didn't like, including the overall premise of the story.  I liked Robin Wright and the badass killer replicant.

I did like the original story, but not a movie I've watched more than a few times in the last 20 years, so not a big fan.

And, yes, plenty left for a sequel.

Two thumbs up from me. I really liked it. Silvia Hoeks was perfect casting as Luv. I watched the original again after and I think that is a better film though. I particularly like the street scenes in the original. So much detail and they just seemed so jumbled and chaotic like a real city. I'm glad I didn't watch the original before seeing 2049.

Sure to be another sequel. Probably something to do with the uprising of the replicants.

I thought it was great too. I didn't come away thinking they had set up a sequel, but no doubt there will be one anyway. Let's hope they wait another 30 years so an old Ryan Gosling can mutter to some new young cop...

I saw it yesterday morning, after screening the original a week before. Thumbs up.

The original looked amazingly good considering when it was made, and I thought it was more emotionally engaging, a better movie.

Funny but true. I tried to watch it , and the only copies available look like someone snuck a super 8 camera into the theatre.... Give it a week or so, it'll be avaiable with Cyrillic subtitles

I saw it yesterday, and am also a big fan of the original. I think they did a fantastic job of keeping the same feeling and aesthetic quality. Ryan Gosling did a fantastic job as the main character as well. I could see the possibility for another film in the franchise, but Ford is too old to bank on him being around and able to work that much longer, so I could see another story being told in the same universe.

I saw it last night, and glad I did.

Not wholly satisfied, but what you gonna do? CGI and models have a different feeling, but we can't go back.

Story satisfactory, option for sequel left open, of course.

Any critic of fiction could find some improbabilities, but I'm glad they did it. Nowhere near as much of a cock-up as the second Total Recall.

Oddly enough, both story kernels came from the same head case author, Phillip K. Dick.

Did you know that Blade Runner is in the same universe as "Alien"?  True.  Remember the "outworlds"?

Although the "replicants" seem different than the "androids" in "Alien".   And the "Predators" don't seem to fit in this at all.

I think history actually diverges from our timeline in about 1968.  Whenever Elvis got his first jumpsuit.  It was funny seeing "Pan Am" ads in this movie.
