Exhaust Paint Recommendations

I want to repaint the exhaust on my 1977 LeMans.  I believe the correct type of paint is matt black, high temperature paint.
The high temp paints I found are good to 1200 degrees F, but are all flat black.
Mid temp engine paints are good to 500 degrees f, and come in matt black.

In a number of photos of LeMans the front pipes look flat black, and the mufflers look matt black.  Either because the paint got cooked on the front pipes, or two different paints were used?

Any recommendations on paint?  High temp or mid temp.  Flat or matt?  One type of paint, or two?
For the record, I am not interested in ceramic coat solutions.  Just Paint.

 VHT Coatings makes flat black but also a satin clearcoat that might get you close to the matte finish .

I noticed lately that VHT makes a black high heat paint that comes out as a sort of semi-gloss. I bought it by accident not knowing it would be glossier.  When you shop for it the easiest way to know what you are getting is that one is a couple bucks more money than the other. Spray on a couple of coats, let it dry up decent, then go for a 20 minute jaunt down the highway. The forced air will cool it enough as it cures in to keep it from blistering. Get it going and keep moving. Easy for me I live on the highway.
